Birthday Celebration

Welcome Bella

My dad's dog Bella came to stay with us. She had knee surgery a week or so ago and can't do stairs for awhile. I think she's a month older than Ava and about 4 times her weight now!

She is HUGE, beautiful and a calm sweet dog. She is not supposed to run or jump so we'll be working hard on not letting the kids excite her too much. Should be a fun few weeks/months/undetermined amount of time :)

Maybe we wont want to give her back...

Dora Pillows

Ava wanted to pick out the fabric for her closet curtains. I just couldn't imagine staring at a wall of bright yellow Dora the Explorer fabric so we made pillow cases with the fabric instead. Both kids loved the pillows and thought it was hilarious to pretend to go to sleep on the kitchen floor. Dustin even got into the floor pile on.

Visit to Aunt Corey and Uncle Thad

5 years later we finally make a visit to Corey and Thad's

place in Schaumberg.

We taught them about childproofing, how much clutter kids create, reasons to not have white carpet, why unrestricted sugar intake is a bad idea and how fun it can be to

sleep with a squirmy child.

Although a Saturday night out at Chucky Cheese sounded like a rockin good time we passed, let the Aunt and Uncle be the fun ones and met up with old friends in Chicago...where we discussed that we are now old. Adult conversations, adult beverages...we had a great time.
