Hula Hooping

Happy Birthday Luca

Luca is ONE YEAR old!!!
We had a pretty mellow day. He ate blueberry pancakes for breakfast and got very messy. We played at an indoor playground during the day (see hula hooping video) and went out to the Nitty Gritty Birthday Bar for dinner where Luca had french fries and ice cream for dinner. His big sister chose a sock monkey to give to him as a gift and enjoyed singing Happy Birthday. She then decided that his new ride on dump truck should be hers and we spent the rest of the evening "taking turns" and throwing fits. Fun times.
Happy Birthday big boy.

Playing dress up

Ava's friend Zach came over to play today and what better fun than everyone dressing up in a
tu tu...boys included. The kids had fun packing up their purses full of stuff, pushing around the baby stroller and most of all jumping in Luca's crib. Why is it that dads don't like tutus on little boys, isn't it adorable? :)

Climbing little boy

Luca is now a climber. He climbs up on the little chairs and now on top of the table too. He gets very proud of himself to make it all the way on top of the table but as you can see from the first picture he also gets mad to not know how to get down. Funny boy.

Taste of Spring

This past week we got out of the house and played at two different playgrounds to celebrate a day of nice weather. The kids had a blast. Ava was thrilled to go on the swings and slides and Luca liked dangling from the swing as well as eating his share of dirt and wood chips.

Swimming with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and we took the kids swimming at their hotel. Ava had fun making Grandpa chase after her octopus and screaming at the top of her lungs and Luca pretty much held on tight to myself or Dustin. It was chilly water but we had lots of fun and warmed up in the hot tub.

Hanging with Aunt Beth and Uncle Tony

We invited ourselves over to Beth and Tony's house to hang with the family and eat Tony's famous ribs. Yum! Joe and Ben escaped having their pictures taken but here are a few of Luca with the lawn mower Aunt Beth gave him, Mema and Luca together and Tony admiring the 6 pounds of ribs he made. It was a fun day.
