Backpack Drive

Wallden women worked together to collect backpacks,
essentials like toiletries, hats, gloves, underwear, blankets etc to help
out Madison's homeless teen community by donating to Briarpatch.

What statred as a little collection box became a huge drive, it was awesome.
Thank you to our friends at the Vintage for offering up space for the event.

Girl Scout troop 2911 helped us with stuffing backpacks along
with friends, neighbors, co-workers and new acquaintences.

Neighborhood Halloween Party

Ava - a Jack-in-the-Box. She came up with this costume
all on her own, stuck to the idea despite other "suggestions"
and worked really hard to help assemble the costume.
If anyone wants to be a Jack-in-the-Box next year
we've got you covered.

Luca is Ben 10 - I didn't know who that was either.
He was excited about the costume and I didn't have to make it.

Adam - a fuzzy little lion, a costume that I believe once
belonged to my 17 year old nephew.

Dear Adam,

who would've thought that i'd forget the date
when our food allergy journey began.
i'm writing this two years later than posted, because food allergies and eczema pushed me over the parenting edge. two years later i'm going to sit down and update the family blog, ha.
what started as "are his eyes swollen?" after a spoonful of yogurt turned into a total change in our life. in your life. food allergies suck. i know it could be worse, it could be so many awful things but still, allergies suck. the road is about to get bumpier buddy. it'll suck for you before it gets better and mom's anxiety will go through the roof. your brother and sister will learn as well, they'll ask before giving you snacks, they'll pretend your food is just as good as theirs, they'll (usually) understand when we say we can't go out for pizza or stop for ice cream.
i can say this because i'm here two years later writing this...it'll be ok. you're going to be ok.
