Wallden Ice Fishing Extravaganza

Dustin and my dad made it several hours out on the ice,

warming themselves with a little Miller Lite.

Luca was super excited by the bucket of minnows,

which he thought were

the many little fish that daddy caught.

Cousin Joe helped the kids "fish",

made snow angels and did a little wrestling.

Luca and I headed back early after 160 pound Beau pushed him

into an ice fishing hole and dunked his arm.

When Ava came back with the men she was super excited

to tell me about all of the

fish that they caught. (all that after I left with the camera!)

I later learned that all of those fish

were the minnows that came back up

with the poles. No fish caught but a good time on the ice.

Recovering

Dustin, trying to hang with the fam before bedtime;

apparently it was a long day after the Packer Super Bowl win.

I Need Diapers

This is how Luca's daycare teacher let us know

that he is in need of diapers.

Hilarious.

City Snow Day

Holy snow!

It's fun, but maybe just for a day or two,

then I'll be ready for spring...

or to move somewhere warm and tropical.

I'm feeling for my work ladies who know very well

that nurses don't get snow days.

Several made long drives into town in terrible weather,

had to sleep at the hospital after their shifts,

shower, eat hospital food and work all night again. Sucky.

Super thankful that it's not my week to work.

Spider Family

Ava stayed in her room, quietly, for over an hour.

Usually quiet time isn't THAT quiet.

The reason...the spider family on her wall.

She was very proud.

Paris the Snowman

Ava REALLY wanted to make a snowman on Sunday.

The snow REALLY didn't want to pack.

With a lot of work on Dustin's part and some help from the steam

of the dryer vent a great mini snowman was made.

Ava named him Paris - not sure where that came from.

She giggled and giggled (as she ate the carrot too big for his face)

Mama Mia

Mama Mia, martinis, dinner,

much needed time with the mama and sis.

Super fun, super exhausting.

Ballet

for months she has been asking to "do ballet"

Santa brought her ballet clothes, and shoes.

finally, the day arrived.

she was calm and attentive to Miss Ari,

tried her best to do the moves that i

don't even know the names for.

it was adorable.

it made her smile and me smile...big time.
