Great Grandma
Ava and great grandma Phyllis playing a made up dice game,
I think they both giggled non stop.
I love that my kids are lucky enough to have two grandmothers,
and a great grandmother...neither of which I had growing up.

Country Clouds
I love to take pictures of clouds. Whenever i have my camera at the park, the beach or pretty much anywhere I always end up with cloud pictures. Sometimes I edit them, try to make a pretty collage or create a funky sky color. Sometimes they just get filed away into folders of other cloud pictures which I'm pretty sure will turn into something amazing someday.

See You Later Kindergarten!
I can't say enough nice things about Ava's kindergarten
experience and about her awesome teacher.
We were nervous when she transferred from McFarland
but she did great...jumped right in and loved
pretty much everything about kindergarten.
Way to go big girl, so proud of you!

Harold
We took a visit to Olbrich Park in our old hood and
up walks Harold, a park regular who loves
attention from little kids.
Nice to see you Harold.

King of the Compost Pile
From the look on the face of the bulldozer driver
and city compost site worker
he was not used to seeing a barefoot skirt wearing woman
shoveling her own compost
and four year old climbing the compost pile
with his snow shovel.
we're amateurs, but a little sunshine and
exercise did us well.
(minus the blisters)

Booo
disappointed. angry. frustrated. pissed off. sad.
i guess madison really is a bubble in the state.
maybe i'm a hopeless liberal but i really believed that
the people would step up and do the right thing.
heavy heart for my fellow union employees,
for my many family members who are teachers,
for my children's future education in a deteriorating
and under valued system and for my daughter's
likely lack of future reproductive health choices.
i'm scared for the future of wisconsin government
for the national implications from this ass of a governor.
that the wealthy can buy a win,
that the people who really need a hand are
misled or offered false promises.
super bummed.

Farmer's Market and a Cranky Family
remember when you could walk around the Farmers Market
taking your time to taste a little of this,
buy a little of that,
stop to chat with a friend and maybe even
park it in an outdoor patio for a bloody mary???
so not the case anymore.
i love my kids and i love the farmers market
but sometimes the two should just not go together.
